The Ineloquent, a contemporary Christian band based out of Minneapolis, MN will be playing a concert at Alternative Fuel Coffee House Friday, September 5th from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
The Ineloquent is a husband and wife-led band dedicated to honoring God with the music they write and play. They believe that any abilities they have or messages they bring forth are not their own, but come from God and are to be used for His glory. Without God in their lives, they have nothing to say. That is why they call themselves ‘Ineloquent.’ Their mission is to use the gifts God has given to build up and challenge the universal church. Above all, they desire to use their music to reach out and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world.
The Ineloquent formed in January of 2006. Since that time, they have played at churches, colleges, festivals, youth groups and youth camps across the country and have shared the stage with artists like Caedmon’s Call and StorySide:B. Their musical style would best be described as vocal-driven pop/rock. They have been compared to artists like Bebo Norman, Caedmon’s Call, Jars of Clay, LaRue, Casting Crowns, and Sixpence None The Richer.
The Ineloquent has released one 5 song EP entitled “Gravity” and will be releasing a new full-length album, “Seeing Things Your Way”, on September 30, 2008. To hear music from The Ineloquent, visit them online at www.myspace.com/theineloquent.

Every youth pastor is excited when they come up with a good, memorable illustration that ties in well with the message that they are trying to communicate. But every once in a while, those same illustrations that we get so excited about flop. This is one of those times…

Youth Specialties has been making a lot of improvements this year — especially online through their new web guy, Adam McLane. I’m really stoked about their new podcast format (short and now with video)! Check out the debut of the re-launched podcast featuring Les Christie and Marko here…
In case you are not following the discussion on the Network forum, we are not meeting at our regular meeting place, the Alternative Fuel Coffee House, for September’s network gathering. On Wednesday, September 3rd @ 8:30 AM we’ll be meeting @ Destiny’s offices located at 1001 E. Philadelphia. I’ve already notified Michelle at the coffee house.
The reason for the change? We’re asking you to come with your best resources and tools for youth ministry: favorite web sites, blogs, podcasts, training books, whatever… we’ll give everyone a chance to share (if you want to). If you just want to come, learn from others, and take notes — that’s cool, too. We are meeting at the Destiny offices so we can spend some extra time sharing resources and tools and doing some quick tech-training if need-be. We’ll be back at AFCH the month after — same time and same place.
I decided that it was time for a change… a welcome change I hope. Changing the rapidcityyouth.com web site to blog format should encourage and welcome community in the form of comments and web 2.0 love. Feel free to forward the link to all and let them know that this is the place for youth workers in the Black Hills area to connect.
To make the first post more interesting, here’s the community-wide See You @ the Pole video from last year’s event…
Join us @ 8:30 am on every first Wednesday of the month at the Alternative Fuel Coffee House on 620 Main Street in Rapid City. Come early and get some coffee; we’d love to meet you there!
The first hour of our gatherings are focused on youth worker fellowship and prayer and, starting at around 9:30 am, we shift to a training / discussion time. All are welcome.
